Performance Builds & Motor Swaps
Built on the same diagnostic precision that defines everything we do. We don't just maintain cars, we make them better.
Performance work that actually holds up
A lot of shops will bolt parts onto your car. Fewer will tune the car properly afterward. Even fewer will diagnose the weird drivability problem the install created. That last part is where most performance builds fall apart, and it is where we start.
Every build that leaves our shop gets the same diagnostic rigor as a warranty repair. Fuel trims verified. Air-fuel ratio dialed in. Boost curve checked. Exhaust checked for leaks that mess with O2 sensors. Suspension geometry measured. The goal is a car that drives better after the work than it did before, with no new check engine lights and no new rattles.
What we build
- Motor swaps: K-series, VR6, VQ, LS, EJ, and more
- Engine builds: forged internals, head work, rotating assembly
- Turbo installations: single turbo, big turbo swaps, top-mount kits
- Downpipes, test pipes, full exhaust systems
- Intake, intercooler, and fueling upgrades
- Suspension: coilovers, lowering springs, sway bars, camber kits
- Track and race preparation: roll bars, harnesses, cooling upgrades
- Walnut blasting and carbon cleaning (VW, Audi, BMW, direct-injection engines)
- Fuel injector cleaning and flow testing
- Tuning support and coordination with local dynos
Import tuning specialty
Alex is VW certified and Honda certified. That matters on a performance build because tuned imports fail in specific, predictable ways when the install is not done right. Carbon buildup on intake valves from a bad PCV setup. Timing chain stretch on a 2.0T making more boost than the stock tensioner was designed for. CVT damage from torque that exceeds what the transmission was rated for. We have seen all of these, and we build cars that avoid them.
If you brought your car home from another shop and the check engine light came on, or it is running worse than before, bring it here. We will diagnose it, explain what was done wrong, and make it right.
